Academic Mentoring Program 

Thank you so much for your interest in the BLAST Academic Mentoring Program!  Please use the links below to apply, sign-up for an Orientation and Training, login to your mentor profile, complete an America Learns Reflection, or refer a youth.

Pre-Placement Requirements 

1. Online Application

2. Attend an Orientation & Training

3. Background Check - BLAST assists with this process; it will discussed at length in the Orientation and Training; you do not need to have a background check before coming to the Orientation and Training

4. TB Test - Submit proof of a negative Tuberculosis test

Mentor Requirements While Volunteering

1. A minimum of 17 hours on site spread out over 8 weeks (at least two hours per week)

2. Sign in and out for every session at the site

3. Complete weekly America Learns Reflections

4. Wear your BLAST name-badge whenever you are on site

• Maps and Directions; don't forget you MUST have an appointment through BLAST before you show up.  These appointments are assigned in the Orientation and Training.
