Programs

Since its inception in September of 2000, BLAST has expanded its programs to include youth mentoring for grades K-12, literacy tutoring, after school programming and our newest addition- mentoring for college bound high school students.

Academic Mentoring Program

BLAST's premier signature program, AMP, aims to improve academic success for youth grades K-12 while helping to develop character and life skills through one-on-one mentoring.

BLAST After School Program

In 2006, BLAST established an after school program in North Long Beach at the Northpointe Housing Community, a development that is home to over 600 youth. The services at Northpointe focus on one-on-one mentoring and enrichment programs that are designed to educate youth on health, character and life skills.

Bridge to College

As a means to encourage and support high school students on their journey to college, Bridge to College is our newest project aimed at not only increasing C.A.H.S.E.E. (California High School Exit Exam) scores and graduation rates but helping students through the college application process all the way through to their first day at school.
